THOSE WHO PRAY WITHOUT CEASING

Prayer, primarily based on God's will or preferences as stated in His word, is the most potent activity known to man for transforming any person, entity, or situation.

When we pray, things change. Even mechanical prayers mimicking examples found in scriptures achieve their goal, hence the warning not to pray if you don't mean it. Because the prayer process is akin to computer programming, it is the most consequential way of effecting lasting personality changes.

Prayer is an activity that involves us speaking to our Father God and listening for His response. Its primary purpose is not to receive favours from God but to build a relationship by helping us to know God by learning His likes, dislikes, and ways firsthand.

However, as Apostle Paul details, building an effective and consistent prayer life requires more than praying. Several other tangential activities will determine how impactful the praying will be, hence this message:

'Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ' - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-23

When we focus on building a prayer system rather than praying as an activity for receiving benefits, not only does God draw us in and reveal Himself to us, but we get inducted into His inner circle with real access to all He has without needing to go through the rigour of asking for them.

When you pursue a holistic prayer life and get your prayer system running smoothly, you inadvertently gain access to God's production system, where the Holy Spirit becomes a part of your personal mastermind team, God's intelligence network becomes part of your strategic information system, and the angels become part of your resource formation, implementation and manufacturing team.

Paul also alluded to this accompanying result of a consistent prayer life when he prayed:

'And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ' - 1 Thessalonians 5:23'
